Once I realised this... everything changed.
Hey Reader, If you’ve been following me online lately, you’ve probably noticed a big focus on parental mental health this week. As we step into the new year, I want to make sure we all prioritise what really matters—and taking care of yourself is at the top of that list. 🌱✨ Let me share a personal story with you. One of the toughest times I’ve had as a parent was the winter of 2021–22. My world felt like it had come crashing down, and my son became SUPER clingy and insecure. It was around Christmas, and my family was coming to stay. The struggle was real: I literally couldn’t leave the room without my son crying, and he had to be within arm’s reach at ALL times. 😓 It was exhausting. Overwhelming. Honestly? Irritating. I couldn’t understand why he was acting this way or what was going on. Why was he so upset? But then a conversation with my mum planted a seed that changed everything. She said, “You know what I’ve noticed? The better YOU are in yourself, the better HE is.” You’d think that would’ve sparked immediate action... but in reality, it took me another nine months to admit how much I was struggling. 🙈 I kept pushing myself, trying to show up as the “perfect parent,” but within minutes, I’d be drained, irritable, and overwhelmed again. It felt impossible. And, honestly? It was. So when did things start to shift? I can honestly say that through that year, we healed together. Now, we’re so connected, and even though we still have our moments, the bond we share is stronger than ever. 🙌 If I hadn’t put my own well-being first, there’s no way we’d be in the place we are today. And that’s why I’m kicking off this year with a laser focus on our own self-care—because it makes ALL the difference. If this resonates with you and you’re ready to take action on your own well-being, let’s chat! Reach out for a free consultation. Parenting isn’t about surviving—it’s about thriving together. 🌟 Take care of YOU, and everything else will follow. 💪 Love Fiona
